The beaches in Carvoeiro are stunning and plentiful. Many beaches are carved out of the cliffs, providing privacy and shelter from the wind. In the way of nightlife, there are a variety of bars and a couple of night clubs providing entertainment into the night. There are also numerous restaurants, ranging from local cuisine to Indian, Chinese and Italian. One of the best local restaurants is 'Restaurant Oasis' - a great mix of traditional & modern food, set in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere - and one of the best bars is 'The Fanatic Joker Bar' in Rocha Brava>.

There is something for everyone - and every age group - here. For golfers Carvoeiro offers three local courses, Vale de Milho, Vale de Pinta and Quinta do Gramacho. The Penina (an 18-hole Champion course) is within 20-minute drive, and the "Golden Triangle", including Vale do Lobo, Quinta do Lago, São Lourenço and Vilamoura, to name but a few, are only half an hour away. Other activities in the area include tennis, walking, horse-riding, and fishing. For children there are two water parks in the area.
