Finding Lost Emails

Truly® algarve will always respond to emails we receive, but many email providers block content, so please check our list below if you do not already know how to remedy the issue with spam, bulk, or junk mail folders.

ISPs:

Some email providers filter messages based on content, subject line, or the sender's address and may put your email into a 'bulk' or 'junk mail' folder. Please make sure @villa-in-algarve.co.uk is on your "approved sender" list or "white list" and/or in your "address book." Occasionally an ISP will institute mail controls that block your email completely without your knowledge. We often do not even receive notice of such a block. The only solution to this problem is for you to be aware what triggers your ISPs blockage and make sure they understand you want to receive our email.

Spam Blockers/Filters and Email Software:

If you have recently installed a new email software or a new program make sure you check the settings. The "defaults" are often much more restrictive than you might wish. Please see our very general suggestions to get started.

Checking for Lost Mail:

If you use Outlook, Outlook Express, or another email program, and have not received a reply from us, you will need to login to the email service provider directly and retrieve your email. Below is a list of some of the most popular email providers and instructions for login and collection. If you still do not receive an email from us, please send a new email or telephone for information.

To ensure you receive our emails you need to create a 'filter'. To create, edit, or delete a filter, click the "Mail Options" link on the top right-hand navigation bar, and then choose "Filters" located in the middle of the page, under Mail Management.

Creating a New Filter

To create a new filter, click the "Add Filter" link on the Filters page.

  1. Choose the 'From' field.

  2. Choose the criterion by which you want a match to be made. For example: contains, ends with.

  3. Enter the text string: @villa-in-algarve.co.uk

  4. Choose the destination folder to which you would like the message delivered. For example: Inbox

  5. If you have more than one filter, you'll also see radio buttons to the left of the filter. Use these buttons to select the placement of your new filter within your existing sequence of filters. Filter order is important because Filter 1 will be the first filter applied to an incoming message, Filter 2 will be the next, and so on until a match is made or all filters are passed. If no filters match an incoming message, it will be delivered to your Inbox.

Be sure to click the "Add filter" button to put your new filter into effect.
