Christmas lights, the Algarve's largest
Christmas tree, and an ice rink are but a
few of the treats the city has organised.
Not to be missed is the official
switching on of the city's lights, on
December 1st at 18h00.
In the Alameda da Praça da República the
ice rink will be inaugurated by the firing
of canons, officially marking the start of
Christmas.
Besides lights on 40 of Portimão's
streets and squares, as well as in Alvor and
Mexilhoeira Grande, the heart of the city –
the Alameda da Praça da República – will
proudly boast the Algarve's biggest
Christmas tree, which will stand 25 metres
tall.
The ice rink will be open from December
6th, from 10h00 – 22h00, every day of the
month with the exception of 24th and 31st
December, when it will close at 18h00.
