As happens every year, honorary invitees,
which this year included Faro Civil Governor
Isilda Gomes, Faro Mayor José Apolinário,
and the institution's honorary ‘Godmother'
Maria Barroso, wife of former President
Mário Soares, were given a guided tour
around the institution to see all recent
renovations and modifications.
Other guests included the parents of the
hundreds of children who have been adopted
since the home's founding, future parents,
associates, volunteers and other
sympathisers with the cause.
As night fell excitement rose amongst the
younger crowd, who had been patiently
waiting for the 2500 bulbs adorning the huge
pine tree to be switched on.
Eventually the bulbs lit up, as did the
smiles on the faces of all present, and
Christmas at the ‘Little Pink House' was
once again welcomed in.
