Albufeira's end of year programme was
unveiled last week in Liberto's bar/disco,
and despite the cold, the list of
entertainers were very warmly received.
Stages will again take shape on the
Marina and Praia dos Pescadores, to feature
performances by national artists including
hip-hop groups Mundo Secreto (28/12) and MTV
award winners Da Weasel (29/12), and singers
Pedro Abrunhosa (30/ 12) and David Fonseca
(31/12).
Continuing celebrations from the 31st
into the 1st of January 2008 will be
well-known DJ of the moment Bob Sinclair,
whose latest project ‘Soundz of Freedom'
include some of this summer's most massive
hits, like ‘Love generation', ‘World Hold
On', and ‘Give A Li'l Love'.
A breathtaking firework display is
planned to mark midnight and will
incorporate various multimedia elements to
stimulate all senses.
Said Albufeira mayor, Desidério Silva, on
the night of the programme's unveiling:
"This is our largest investment in
entertainment so far this year"; it is a
programme created to catapult the city to
becoming one of Portugal's most sought-after
New Year destinations.
