TAP administrator Luiz Gama Mor has publicly assumed
that the airline is ready to inflate plane tickets
further in the coming weeks.
Speaking at the London Tourism Fair this week, he
revealed that the strong euro has attenuated some of the
effects of rising price of crude which is now
approaching 100 USD a barrel.
Since November 8, 2006, the cost of fuel has risen
from 59.63 USD to 96.73 USD.
Currently, TAP charges a fuel tax of 15 euros for a
domestic flight, 25 euros are levied on passengers
travelling to European destinations and 68 euros for
intercontinental flights.
The last time TAP increased its fuel tax was on July
23.
The tax was created back in August 2004.
