Music, lights, entertainment and excellent food were on
the agenda, and included the presence of celebrities and
dignitaries.
Present at the official launch were Economy Minister
Manuel Pinho, the head of the Algarve Tourist Board (RTA)
António Pina, the presidents of the Imocom and European
Hilton groups, and the new general manager of the Hilton
Cascatas, Alessandro Cabella.
Also at the affair were Portuguese socialites Bibá
Pitta and Cinha Jardim, in the company of a number of
well-known Portuguese models. But it was model and TV
presenter Marisa Cruz, wife of footballer Joăo Pinto,
who stole the show in red as she carried out the welcome
speech and introduced speakers.
Comprising the menu were three elaborate buffets,
Mediterranean, Japanese and South American, confected by
the Hilton group's most acclaimed international chefs.
Breathtaking acts from German acrobatic duo the
Ceasar twins were the highlight of the night, followed
by a musical performance from Boney M.
Culminating with dazzling fireworks, the energetic,
lavish evening is a reflection of what the Hilton brand
stands for.
Spread over 40,000 square metres the Hilton Cascatas
comprises a hotel, vacation club, tourist apartments and
a spa.
It represents a €75 million investment; a five-star
development based on an innovative architectural concept
that sets the resort in a league of its own.
As the name indicates, waterfalls (Cascatas) feature
heavily and flow throughout the interior and exterior,
lending a tranquil, relaxing feel to an exciting new
project.
