All about Vale de Parra
Holidays to Vale de Parra are suited to almost everybody. Vale de Parra is centrally located between Vilamoura and Carvoeiro, and is approximately 6km west of Albufeira. The small collection of traditional towns in the area, along with the fabulous beaches, is generally recognized as one of the principal destination for Private Villa Holidays in the Algarve, Portugal. The areas of Guia, Balaia, Vale de Parra and Castello provide some excellent private Villa locations around the area. Close to our office is a small supermarket, a number of bars and shops, and the excellent ‘Girasol’ and ‘São Domingos’ restaurants. Other activities include the Slide & Splash Water Park, as well as Zoomarine Aquaticland - an excellent and instructive day out for the family, and an opportunity to swim with dolphins which shouldn’t be missed!
Located near Galé beach, between Albufeira and Pêra, Salgados Golf Course has been laid out among the low lying wetlands and incorporates 14 water hazards. To compensate for the amount of water, Salgados has only semi-rough and the length has been restricted to 6080 metres from the championship tees. It is a traditional par 72 course with four par 3 holes and four par 5 holes. Tifton 419 Bermuda grass has been used for the fairways, Rye grass for the semi-rough, and Penn Cross for the greens. The course occupies half of the wetlands available in Vale de Parra, with the other section designated a wild bird and wildlife Nature Reserve. The local beaches are regarded as some of the finest – and cleanest – on the coast. Praia da Gale, for example, is very popular for windsurfing and scuba diving, and only 8 km from the centre of Albufeira – this is without question one of the finest beaches in the district of Vale de Parra, and indeed the Algarve as a whole.
Nearby areas include Armação de Pêra, Boliqueime, Guia and Paderne with its ruined castle perched on an isolated hill some distance from the village. Approximately 5 minutes drive from Vale de Parra is Guia Shopping which is now the largest shopping centre on the Algarve, and here can also be found a 10 pin Bowling Centre and multi screen Cinema, and host of bars, restaurants, and other amenities. Guia Shopping also has a newly opened Retail Park with many big name brands available.
