Although the area of Vale de Parra has experienced growth in recent years, traditionally our clients have sought the area out for holidays essentially because of the stunning coastline and beaches. The best beaches in the Vale de Parra area are generally considered to be those of those of Sao Rafael, Praia de Gale, and Castelo – these beaches can also with justification lay claim to being some of the finest to be found anywhere on the Algarve coastline.

Gale is the largest of the beaches, with its sandy expanses covering well over ½ mile of distance, and ranging from the west of Vale de Parra right through to the outlying areas of Albufeira. It is the best known of the beaches and plays host to an excellent selection of beach bars and restaurants.

Praia do Gale is flanked on either side by secluded coves which offer excellent fishing and diving opportunities. Where there are beaches, there are boats, and the area offers the opportunity to enjoy numerous boat trips which explore the caves, blow holes and features of the coastline, as well as taking fishing and water skiing excursions.

Vale de Parra is not a venue for those seeking nightclubs and late night revelries – it is the perfect location for Algarve family holidays; for enjoying the scenery; for walking and enjoying local foods and wines. Having said that, a short taxi ride, or drive in a hire car, will take you into Albufeira, which is an altogether different destination.

Walkers will also enjoy holidaying in Vale de Parra. The coastal walks and trails into the grape and citrus laden valleys are blissfully quiet - even in the height of the summer - and offer stunning views across the landscape. Horse riding and cycling are also actively encouraged as ways of discovering the country. For those with children to entertain, the town of Guia, which is just 5 minutes drive from the centre of Vale de Parra, is home to the ‘Aqualand Waterpark’ and ‘Zoomarine’, the renowned aquatic theme park. ‘Slide & Splash’, one of the most established waterparks on the Algarve, is located just outside of Alcantarilha, which again is just 5 minutes drive from Vale de Parra. Shopping is catered for at ‘Guia Shopping’, the largest  retail park on the Algarve, and here you will find multi-screen cinemas, bowling alleys, and internationally established food chains such as Pizzahut and KFC.

Vale de Parra is also home to the Salgados Nature Reserve, and the Salgados golf course – a championship standard course which takes full advantage of the local abundance of water and wind.
